Motus Hino Parow is inviting applications for a Level 1 Apprentice who is passionate about commercial vehicle repair and aspires to qualify as a Diesel Mechanic Technician. Reporting directly to the Service Manager, the selected candidate will participate in a structured Apprentice Training Programme designed to provide practical workshop exposure and technical development.
The apprenticeship will involve hands-on training under the supervision of qualified technicians. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting technicians with commercial vehicle repairs and maintenance
- Removing and refitting components such as batteries, wheels, filters, and other vehicle parts
- Performing lubrication services and oil changes under supervision in accordance with manufacturer specifications
- Maintaining workshop cleanliness, tools, and equipment in proper working condition
- Supporting general housekeeping duties within the workshop
- Lifting vehicles and securing them safely using appropriate workshop equipment
- Attending mandatory technical and level-based training courses
- Adhering strictly to all safety standards and procedures
- Carrying out additional reasonable duties as required.
This programme offers practical exposure to diesel engine systems, mechanical components, and workshop operations within a professional dealership environment.
Apprenticeship Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Grade 12 qualification with Pure Mathematics and Physical Science
- Technical Matric will be advantageous
- Clear criminal record
- Valid driver’s license (beneficial but not mandatory)
- Basic technical aptitude or mechanical skills will be advantageous
- Strong teamwork abilities and customer-oriented mindset.
