• Support the responsible pharmacist by assisting with the compounding, manipulation, or preparation of non-sterile medicines based on approved formulas and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Aid in the unpacking and merchandising of stock, as well as the cleaning of shelves in both the dispensary and front shop.
• Fulfill any additional tasks assigned by the Responsible Pharmacist or Manager.
• Acquire the necessary skills to accurately interpret prescriptions and handle them professionally, responsibly, and in compliance with the South African Pharmaceutical Council’s legal requirements.
• Process the sale of Schedule 1 medicines through the UNISOLV system, ensuring accuracy through pharmacist verification and signature.
• Ensure precise picking, packing, labeling, and checking of medications, paying close attention to important drug interactions.
• Load stock into the ZORA system on a daily basis.
• Assist in the management of stock, including monitoring on-hand quantities, expiry dates, cleanliness, and organization of shelves, both in the ZORA system and in the compounding area.
• Pre-pack medications and maintain appropriate stock levels of all pre-packs.
• Maintain cleanliness in relevant working areas, such as the counting machine and unhuator/mixer.
• Take responsibility for the management of the vaccination fridge.
• Follow up with patients and staff regarding prescription tracking reports and scheduled appointments as requested by the dispensary manager.
• Provide support in the call center by handling telephonic prescriptions and answering phone calls related to patient services.
• Assist with medications “To Follow” upon request from Interns or Pharmacists.
• Assist in the emptying of drawers in the Dispensary for loading into the ZORA system.
• Assist with matters concerning medical aids, including authorizations for general chronic medication, as well as HIV/AIDS and oncology medication.
• Report low or out-of-stock levels and stock errors to the dispensary manager.
• Conduct weekly checks and resolve errors in the ZORA system.
• Receive dispensary stock following the Standard Operating Procedures established by the company.

The selected appliacnt will be entitled to a salary of R90 000 – R120 000/annum.

• Ensure you have obtained a Grade 12 qualification, either Matric or a Senior Certificate, with at least 50% in Pure Mathematics, Life Science, and/or Physical Science (with an average of at least 50%).
• Obtain a Basic Pharmacist Assistant Certificate issued by SAPC.
• Demonstrate fluency in both English and Afrikaans, including reading, writing, and speaking.
