About the HCI (Hosken Consolidated Investments) Foundation Bursary 2022
The HCI (Hosken Consolidated Investments) Foundation is offering financial assistance to students based in South Africa who are in immediate need of funding for their 2022 academic year. The HCI (Hosken Consolidated Investments) Foundation Bursary is a great bursary for those who are planning to continue their studies in the following year as well as new candidates of Honours and Post-graduate Diploma qualifications. Please be kindly informed that the bursary does not accommodate part-time studies, distance learning studies, or candidates who are pursuing their education at TVET colleges.

At the moment, the HCI (Hosken Consolidated Investments) Foundation Bursary is available for the following institutions:

  • University of KwaZulu-Natal
  • Rhodes University
  • University of Johannesburg
  • University of Cape Town
  • University of Witwatersrand
  • University of Stellenbosch
  • University of the Free State
  • University of the Western Cape
  • North-West University
  • University of Pretoria
  • Nelson Mandela University.

Awardees of the bursary will be entitled to coverage of 75% of their tuition expenses of up to R38 000/annum. Unfortunately, the bursary does not provide coverage for items such as living costs, prescribed study materials, accommodation costs, daily meals, or transportation. Additionally, the bursary does not cover repeat years of study/modules.

Awardees will be required to participate in the workshops or finish up surveys asked of by the selection committee during their time in university.

Important note: the HCI (Hosken Consolidated Investments) Foundation Bursary does not offer bursary opportunities for Masters or PhD qualifications.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates interested in the HCI (Hosken Consolidated Investments) Foundation Bursary must meet certain qualifying requirements before submitting their applications. Each of the items listed below will determine if you are qualified to continue with this bursary. Candidates should meet all of the following standards to ensure a successful application. The HCI (Hosken Consolidated Investments) Foundation Bursary Eligibility Criteria are as follows:

  • Officially recognised as citizens, refugees, and asylum seekers of South Africa
  • 35 years old or below on 15 November 2022
  • Pursuing their Honours and Post-graduate Diploma qualification in either one of the institutions mentioned above for the 2022 academic year
  • Has a gross family income that does not exceed R38 000 per month
  • Current awardees of the HCI (Hosken Consolidated Investments) Foundation bursary who are planning to continue their undergraduate qualification for the 2022 academic year at either a public university or university of technology in South Africa.
