About the Haw & Inglis Bursaries 2022
Haw & Inglis is offering financial assistance for bright-minded students who are pursuing Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Building fields. The Haw & Inglis Bursaries is an all-inclusive programme that welcomes people of all different backgrounds.

As an awardee, you will be provided with the necessary support to chase after your academic qualification. If you display exemplary academic scores and valuable qualities as a student, you are more than encouraged to give this opportunity a shot.

Please be kindly informed that the bursary is offered for the 2022 academic year. Additionally, the selection committee will be offering bursaries to candidates based on the academic merit they show and the requirements they have fulfilled in their respective University/the University of Technology. Awardees of the bursary will have their funding directly transferred to their respective institutions.

Eligibility Criteria
Before submitting their applications for the Haw & Inglis Bursaries, candidates must first ensure that they meet the qualifying requirements. These things below will decide whether or not you have what it takes to continue with this bursary program. Candidates are recommended to fulfill all of the following criteria in order to ensure a successful application. Failure to do so will have negative implications for the overall outcome of your applications. Make a note of these points for future reference.

The Haw & Inglis Bursaries Eligibility Criteria are as follows:
1. Basic Requirements

  • Officially recognised as a citizen of South Africa
  • Posses a Matric qualification or have finished (and passed) their Matric qualification
  • Currently pursuing or planning to study towards an Undergraduate Degree in one of the fields mentioned above
  • Currently enrolled or planning to enroll in a recognised South African University or University of Technology
  • Current Matric applicants must obtain at least a “C” symbol or 60% average aggregate score for the subjects of Mathematics and Physical Science
  • Current tertiary applicants: must possess an impressive academic track record and have passed their subjects with flying colors.

2. Personal Attributes

  • Love going outdoors
  • Willing to perform work activities in rural areas
  • Has a passion for the building construction and civil sector
  • Shows impressive leadership abilities
  • Displays great communication abilities
  • Proactive when taking action.

Once you have downloaded the application form above, please skim through the boxes before providing your answers.

Before you begin, please write properly in block CAPITALS and carefully read the guiding letter that comes with the form. To avoid getting rejected from the selection process, be sure that all parts and questions are properly addressed and filled out.

Additionally, you will need to provide the following documents in the application form:

  • ID Photo
  • Certified copy of ID Document
  • Certified copy learners/drivers license
  • Grade 11 year end results
  • Full course results for period of study
  • June & September results for Grade 12
  • Grade 12 year end results (if available)

All these documents should be included in your application dossier. Incomplete dossiers will be disregarded by the selection committee.

By submitting your applications, you are granting permission to the selection committee to use your personal information for the purpose of registering you for the event.

Applications will be subjected to further evaluation and vetting procedures to verify the validity of candidates. Anyone discovered to be falsifying any aspects of their applications will be disqualified from the registration period.

Closing Date
Applications for the Haw & Inglis Bursaries must be submitted before the closing date on 30 September 2021.

By enrolling as quickly as possible, you can ensure that your application is secured as soon as possible. However, this does not guarantee instant success and is just intended to provide you with a secure position throughout the recruiting process.

Candidates that submit their applications after the deadline will not be considered by the selection committee. All entries received after the deadline will be immediately rejected, regardless of their content.

Haw & Inglis has the right to offer or deny employment to anybody at its discretion. The selecting committee’s judgments are final and binding on all parties involved.
