Gold Leaf Tobacco Corporation is giving out several learnership programmes to a pool of talented individuals who are seeking employment for the first time. The Gold Leaf Tobacco Learnership, conducted in Linbro Park, is an extensive programme designed to provide participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical working skills in a real-time working environment. Under the guidance of professional training providers, learners will receive exposure on how the industry works. This type of experience will be greatly helpful for those who have yet to attain any working experience beforehand.

Selected participants of the Gold Leaf Tobacco Corporation will work hand-in-hand within the company’s production floor. Assisted by senior technicians, learners are expected to form a solid understanding of the company’s machinery and production operations. Learners are then given a list of responsibilities that you must perform in order to pass the programme. These range from storing products in inventories, to cleaning the machinery. All activities will be directly supervised by a company expert to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Participants of the Gold Leaf Tobacco Learnerships are entitled to a stipend of R3 500. Overtime pay is also available (paid accordingly based on a learner’s current shift).

  • Prepared to endure irregular working hours (e.g. both day and night shifts)
  • Preference will be offered to:
    • Candidates who have never received any prior working experience
    • Candidates who have finished an N3/N4 qualification in any Mechanical-related discipline.
