General Duties as Firefighter

• Respond swiftly to emergencies, including fires, medical incidents, hazardous material spills, and rescue operations
• Use firefighting equipment such as hoses, extinguishers, and specialized tools to control and extinguish fires, minimizing damage and protecting lives
• Locate and rescue individuals from dangerous situations, including burning buildings and other hazardous environments
• Deliver first aid and emergency medical care to those in need until paramedics or medical professionals take over
• Inspect, clean, and maintain firefighting gear, vehicles, and tools to ensure they function properly during emergencies
• Engage in regular training sessions and drills to sharpen firefighting techniques and emergency response skills
• Document emergency responses by writing detailed reports on incidents, actions taken, and outcomes
• Educate communities about fire safety, conduct inspections, and enforce fire prevention measures to reduce risks.

The Fidelity Services Group Job Vacancy as Firefighter Eligibility Criteria are as follows:

1. General Requirements

• Obtain a Grade 12 qualification as a minimum requirement
• Hold an IFSAC-accredited certification
• Earn an NFPA 1001 Firefighter II certification
• Complete Firefighter II certification
• Gain firefighting training and accumulate at least 2–3 years of relevant experience
• Possess a valid Code C1 driver’s license with PrDP
• Develop advanced driving skills for an added advantage
• Maintain medical and physical fitness
• Demonstrate a strong understanding and practical knowledge of fire prevention procedures
• Acquire expertise in fire-fighting systems, including fire suppression methods, fire classifications, and fire chemistry
• Maintain a clear criminal record
• React swiftly and efficiently to emergency situations
• Develop strong administrative, interpersonal communication, and customer liaison skills
• Gain essential experience and knowledge in hazardous materials (Hazmat) management
• Obtain EMT certification
• Complete First Aid training from levels 1 to 3.
