About the Feltex Fitter Apprenticeship 2026
Feltex is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for its Fitter Apprenticeship 2026 programme based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with fitting, maintenance, repair, and installation activities on equipment and machinery
• Participate in structured technical training programmes to develop fitting trade skills
• Help identify equipment defects, hazards, and repair requirements
• Support inspections, troubleshooting, and testing of malfunctioning machinery
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, worksheets, and related documentation
• Assist with workshop preparations and general fitting support duties
• Help with lifting, storage, checking deliveries, and collecting supplies when required
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety procedures, operational standards, and company regulations.

Apprenticeship Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate with Mathematics and Science
• Alternatively, an N3 qualification including Fitter Trade Theory, Mathematics, and Engineering Science
• NCV Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Fitting or Maintenance will also be considered
• Ability to work in a technical and manufacturing environment
• Good problem-solving and communication skills
• Willingness to learn and complete practical training programmes
• Strong attention to safety procedures and workplace compliance.
