On a daily basis, it operates 19 wastewater treatment facilities, which discharge between 700 and 1000 megalitres of wastewater per day, which includes both domestic and industrial wastewater. ERWAT (Ekurhuleni Water Care Company) is offering three (3) bursary positions for bright-minded South African students with impressive academic talents. The ERWAT (Ekurhuleni Water Care Company) Bursaries is an all-inclusive programme that welcomes people of all different backgrounds.
At the moment, the ERWAT (Ekurhuleni Water Care Company) Bursaries is available for the following fields:
- Electrical Engineering X1
- Chemical Engineering or Water Care X1
- Analytical Chemistry or Biotechnology or Microbiology X1

- Currently between 18-26 years old
- Officially recognised as a citizen of South Africa
- Currently enrolled in a Gauteng Public University
- Displays impressive communication and written abilities
- Has a keen eye for the small details
- Preference is offered to candidates who are residing within the Ekurhuleni municipality.
