About the Discovery Long Term Insurance Learnership 2023-2024
Discovery is offering learnerships specializing in Long Term Insurance for South African individuals based in the Eastern Cape Province and KwaZulu-Natal. Discovery recognizes the importance of investing into younger generations of future insurance providers. Through this learnership, Discovery can facilitate passionate youths who are looking to strengthen their core purpose, especially in this line of work. The Discovery Long Term Insurance Learnership is a combination of both theoretical knowledge assessments and practical working sessions revolving around Long Term Insurance. Selected learners will be subjected to various educational components and must implement them in a real-time work place. Besides Long Term Insurance, learners will also be taught on operating call centres, claims, health benefits administration, and medical aid client servicing. Upon successful completion of the learnership, participants will be entitled to an FETC in Long Term Insurance NQF Level 4. This qualification will help you receive a better chance of receiving permanent employment in the future job market.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfilled the eligibility criteria that comes with the Discovery Long Term Insurance Learnership. The items that have been selected by the committee will play a crucial role in determining whether you are qualified enough for the programme or not. The Discovery Long Term Insurance Learnership Eligibility Criteria are:
1. Educational Requirements

• Holds a Grade 12 qualification
• English score min. Level 4 or 50%
• 2nd Language score min. Level 4 or 50%
• Maths score min. Level 4 or 50%
• Maths Literacy score min. Level 5 or 60%
• Optional, but advantageous: an incomplete tertiary studies qualification.

2. Specific Criteria

• Between 18-25 years old at the time of applications
• Currently not involved in any educational post-Matric studies
• Currently not involved in any formal employment
• Has not finished any learnerships prior to this one
• Displays effective communication capabilities
• Has proven fluency in spoken and written English
• Shows basic understanding of computer skills (e.g. MS Office software).
