Dis-Chem is on the search for applicants who would like to obtain practical exposure within the pharmaceutical field through their traineeship programme. The Dis-Chem Pharmacies Manager Traineeship presents an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join the Middelburg store as a Trainee Manager.
In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in all aspects of store operations under the guidance and supervision of an experienced store manager. This traineeship is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of retail management, allowing you to develop key leadership and operational skills. You will be actively involved in day-to-day store activities, learning how to manage staff, optimize sales, and ensure smooth business operations.
You will be required to perform the duties below:
- Oversee and facilitate the processing of stock-related tasks, including tracking goods in transit, conducting cycle counts, reconciling physical stock with system records, and participating in stock takes. Ensure stock levels are accurately maintained while addressing shrinkage concerns.
- Ensure the smooth and efficient flow of stock from receiving to the sales floor, minimizing delays and improving product availability for customers.
- Support and participate in shrinkage control measures, helping to identify and prevent losses.
- Assist in ordering stock across FMCG, Health, and Beauty departments to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Contribute to the planning, setup, and maintenance of promotional stock displays in FMCG, Health, and Beauty, ensuring they align with marketing strategies and enhance customer engagement.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with labeling, pricing, and store layout standards to enhance product visibility and customer experience.
- Support the goods receiving process, following standard operating procedures to ensure accurate stock intake and management.
- Play an active role in maintaining transaction integrity for both incoming stock receipts and outgoing product returns, following internal control procedures.
- Assist in reconciling daily ZMove Packs in line with company receiving policies and procedures.
- Work towards achieving store sales targets by supporting efforts across various departments, including FMCG, Health, and Beauty.
- Collaborate with department heads to ensure business goals are met and operational efficiencies are achieved.
