About the Dana Apprenticeship 2024
Dana is looking for interested applicants who would like to obtain proper practical work experience in the Millwright field with their apprenticeship programme. This Dana Apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity for individuals to embark on a temporary role where they will immerse themselves in the practical aspects of the business. As an apprentice, you will be tasked with learning and mastering a variety of technical skills essential for maintaining and improving the company’s operations. Your responsibilities will include participating in both restorative and preventive maintenance activities, ensuring that machinery and systems are running efficiently and effectively.

You will be under the tutelage of experienced facilitators and mentors who will guide you through the learning process. These mentors will provide valuable insights, hands-on training, and continuous support, helping you develop a deep understanding of the technical aspects of the business. You will be expected to actively engage in learning opportunities, ask questions, and seek clarification whenever needed to fully grasp the concepts and tasks at hand.

Throughout the apprenticeship, you will be required to perform the duties below:

  • Prepare to work in both engineering and operational settings within the industry

  • Commit to full-time attendance for all classroom and hands-on training sessions
  • Carry out technical tasks involving both mechanical and electrical work

The Dana Apprenticeship Eligibility Criteria are as follows:

1. Basic Qualifications

  • Possess a minimum technical qualification of N2 in Electrical/Mechanical
  • Obtain a matric certificate, with subjects in Math, Science, and Technical Drawing being advantageous
  • Gain one year of experience in a technical manufacturing environment, as this would be beneficial
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, as computer literacy is essential
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize tasks and work with minimal supervision
