Columbus Stainless Steel is giving out an opportunity for unemployed South African youths who are intereted in training as a production field operator. Learnership in Stainless Steel at Columbus is a great learnership that will provide you with the fundamentals of the industry. A planned curriculum will be followed during the duration of the program, which will include both theoretical evaluations and practical working sessions that will take place in a real-world corporate environment. You will be encouraged to make significant progress toward a certification while working under the supervision of expert training providers.

It is necessary for you to complete two years of training throughout your learnership. You will be eligible for a MERSETA Metals Manufacturing certification at NQF Level 2 if you complete this program and demonstrate excellent performance. Eligibility Criteria

The Columbus Stainless Steel Learnership Eligibility Criteria are as follows:

  • Hold a Grade 12/N3 qualification with Mathematics (minimum 40%) or Mathematical Literacy (minimum 60%), along with Science (minimum 40%)
  • Be a South African citizen
  • Reside within the Steve Tshwete Municipal area, as preference is given to local candidates
  • Possess a valid Crane Licence, which will be considered a strong advantage
  • Demonstrate experience operating mobile equipment (e.g., cranes, overhead cranes, front-end loaders, mobile cranes) in a heavy engineering manufacturing environment; experience in melting and rolling mills will be advantageous
  • Maintain medical fitness required for the training position
  • Show technical ability and strong hand–eye coordination
  • Exhibit qualities of being a fast learner, energetic, disciplined, and committed to a strong work ethic
  • Display motivation to learn and develop into an equipment or process operator
  • Be prepared to work shifts and overtime in a 24-hour operational environment
  • Preference will be offered to applicant who are residing within the Steve Tshwete municipality region
