Bursary Types and Requirements
The Columbus Stainless Bursaries cater to the fields below, provided you have the specific qualification requirement:

1. Bursary Applicant: B.Eng Physical Metallurgy/ B.Sc. Material Science/Chemical Engineering: 4th year student in 2021
Requirement: B.Eng Physical Metallurgy/ B.Sc. Material Science/Chemical Engineering student – 4th year 2021, with an average of 60% or more.

2. Bursary Applicant: Process Instrumentation: National Diploma 2nd year in 2021
Requirement: Process Instrumentation student, 2nd year of study in 2021, with an average of 60% or more.

3. Bursar Applicant: National Diploma Mechanical Engineering, 2nd year student in 2021
Requirement: National Diploma Mechanical Engineering, 2nd year student in 2021.

4. Bursar Applicant: B.Eng./ B.Sc. Physical Metallurgy/Material Sciences – 3rd year student in 2021
Requirement: B.Eng. Physical Metallurgy or B.Sc. Material Sciences, to be in 2nd year of studies in 2021, with an average of 60% or more.

  3. Bursar Applicant: National Diploma Mechanical Engineering, 2nd year student in 2021
  4. Bursar Applicant: B.Eng./ B.Sc. Physical Metallurgy/Material Sciences – 3rd year student in 2021

Candidates are required to make an account through either one of the registration portal above. This account will store of your personal details and documents required to process your applications.

Due to the sensitive nature of your account, please keep it secure from anyone else. Never share your credentials, especially your password, to other people. This helps to prevent any hacking incidents.

Candidates are required to provide the following documents as well:

  • Your most updated CV (Curriculum Vitae)
  • A copy of your Matric certificate
  • A copy of your Identity Document
  • Your most recent Academic Record.

By sending in your applications, you are hereby giving permission to the selection committee to have your information utilized by the selection committee for registration purposes.

Applications will be subjected to further evaluation and vetting procedures to verify the validity of candidates. Anyone discovered to be falsifying any aspects of their applications will automatically be disqualified from the registration period.

Candidates must process their applications through the registration portals provided above. Submissions made through other methods, such as email or fax, will not be entertained by the selection committee.

Closing Date
Applications for the Columbus Stainless Bursaries must be submitted before the closing date on 15 February 2021.

The selection committee has absolute zero tolerance for late submissions. Candidates discovered to be sending in their applications past the deadline will not be considered during the registration period.

Announcements will only be made to shortlisted candidates. Should you not hear back from the selection committee within 2 weeks past the closing date, we regret to inform you that you have not been selected for the programme.

Columbus Stainless reserves the rights to make an appointment or not during the recruitment process. All decisions made by the selection committee are final.
