About the City of Cape Town Electrical Apprenticeship 2023
The City of Cape Town of looking for candidates to join their Electrical Apprenticeship to further improve their work-related skills in a professional setting. The City of Cape Town Electrical Apprenticeship is a great chance for you to learn more about your trade under a credible working environment. Upon your appointment, you will be heavily involved in the Electricity Generation and Distribution department. All apprentices will be entitled to a salary of R134 204 per annum.

Eligibility Criteria
The City of Cape Town Electrical Apprenticeship application must be submitted as soon as feasible. However, you must first go over the prerequisites for the program. Whether or not you would be a good candidate will depend on these variables. Please review the qualifications stated below if you’d want to double-check your credentials. It’s preferable if you can check off every item on the list below if you want to improve your chances of success.
The City of Cape Town Electrical Apprenticeship Eligibility Criteria are as follows:
- Electrical Trade Theory, Mathematics, Engineering Science, Industrial Electronics, or any other subject in the Heavy Current Stream with Matric OR Technical Matric (Grade 12 English, Electrical Trade Theory, Mathematics, Physical Science, and any other subject), which is the lowest level of technical qualification recognized by the NTC. OR Complete NCV 4 Electrical (with 7 subjects)
- A deep passion for the electrical industry
- Must be a resident of the metropolis of City of Cape Town
- A current driver’s license, preferably one with the old Code 10 (Code C1), is advised
- Not have earned a trade qualification by the start of the program.
- Not holding a National S Diploma or a higher qualification.
Important note: Candidates having health issues that might affect the apprenticeship program won’t be taken into consideration (eg. Epilepsy, colour blindness, etc.)

For the purpose of submitting their applications, candidates are needed to create an account on the application portal. It will be necessary to log into this account for the duration of the registration procedure.
You authorize the selection committee to use your personal data for the purpose of adding you to the applicant pool by submitting your application materials.
Application materials will go through further inspection and verification steps to make sure they are real. Anyone found to have falsified any information in their applications will not be permitted to take part in the registration period.
Candidates must use the website mentioned above to submit their applications. The selection committee will reject attempts to submit papers using other channels, like personal delivery or fax.
Closing Date
Applications for the City of Cape Town Electrical Apprenticeship must be submitted before the closing date on 06 October 2023.
Sending in your applications as soon as you can is advised. You can increase your chances of getting a position during registration by submitting early. Additionally, it avoids any unwelcome last-minute occurrences like unexpectedly high Internet traffic or lost data.
The selection committee will not accept applications that are incomplete. Candidates whose applications are received after the deadline won’t be taken into consideration. Any late contributions, regardless of their content, will be ignored and ignored submissions will not be reviewed.
Announcements will only be made to shortlisted candidates. If you do not hear back from the selection committee within three (3) months past the closing date, we regret to inform you that you have not been selected for the apprenticeship.
