In the northeastern region of the province of Mpumalanga, the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality, a Category B municipality and presidential nodal point, is situated inside the Ehlanzeni District. With more than a third of the district’s total territory, it is the biggest of the four municipalities that make up the district.

The municipal area serves as a connection between Lydenburg and other Lowveld cities, especially Hoedspruit, Pilgrim’s Rest, and Graskop. As a result, Bushbuckridge Local Municipality may be referred to as the entryway to the main tourist destinations in Mpumalanga and the eastern half of the province of Limpopo.

Eligibility Criteria

• Accomplished a Grade 12/Matric qualification
• Enrolling into your 1st year of full-time study in one of the fields mentions above for the 2023 academic year
• Already accepted to pursue your education at a recognized higher education institution in the South African area
• Originating from a disadvantaged background
• Shown to require financial assistance.

Please fill out the application form with your most relevant responses by writing them into the appropriate areas. All of the personal information you submit should be accurate and correspond to your actual circumstances.

• Evidence of indigence
• A legitimate proof of residence
• A certified copy of grade 12 exam results slip from June ( if you are currently in Grade 12)
• A clinic, hospital, or licensed medical professional-issued certificate proving your disability
• A certified copy of an identification document, such as a birth certificate (ID)
• A letter from a higher education institution serving as proof of enrollment or acceptance
• A certified copy of the Grade 12 diploma or NCV
• A certified copy of your parents’ or guardians’ income affidavit or salary statement.

All these documents should be included in your application dossier. Incomplete dossiers will automatically disqualified.

Additional test and application screening methods will be used to check the genuineness of the candidates. Anyone found to have lied on their application will not be allowed to register during the registration period.

Candidates must submit their applications through the aforementioned procedures. The selection committee will not accept submissions made using other channels, such as fax or email addresses.

Closing Date
Applications for the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality Bursaries must be submitted before the closing date on 28 January 2023.

Applications received after the deadline will not be considered by the selection committee. Submissions sent after the deadline won’t be recognized while registration is open.

Before the deadline, applications for the program must be filed. The selection committee will not accept late applications, and the program will not accept these kinds of submissions.

Announcements will only be made to shortlisted candidates. If you do not hear back from the selection committee within one month past the closing date, we regret to inform you have not been chosen for the programme.
