About the Brights Maintenance Apprenticeship 2025
Brights is on the search for candidates who would like to receive practical work exposure focusing on the Maintenance department based in Blackheath, Western Cape. The Brights Maintenance Apprenticeship requires apprentices to maintain the smooth operation of all elements that impact the business’s overall efficiency. This includes performing repairs, routine servicing, and general upkeep of equipment, buildings, and facility systems to ensure everything functions optimally. Apprentices will carry out these tasks under the supervision of a Manager, gaining hands-on experience while contributing to the organization’s operational effectiveness.

You will be required to deliver the following outputs:

  • Support regular inspections of all electrical, mechanical, and other essential equipment within the facility to identify potential issues and ensure proper functionality
  • Assist in performing repairs, servicing, and other maintenance-related tasks as assigned by the Artisan or management, contributing to the overall upkeep of the facility
  • Maintain tools in excellent condition by keeping them organized, cleaning them after use, and storing them safely to prevent damage or loss
  • Adhere to industry standards and safety regulations, ensuring all maintenance work is carried out responsibly and in compliance with legal requirements
  • Complete all assigned tasks efficiently and accurately under the direction of the supervising authority, demonstrating a strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Manage time effectively by prioritizing tasks and meeting all specified deadlines to support the smooth operation of maintenance activities
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the work area, maintaining a safe and productive environment
  • Undertake any additional work-related responsibilities as assigned by supervisors, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn.
