Barberton Mines is offering a learnership programmes for astounding South African individuals who wish to garner a stronger foundation in Engineering field. The Barberton Mines Engineering Learnerships is a remarkable opportunity for local youths to get a better grip of the industry’s line of work. Selected learners will be subjected to a structured learning curriculum that combines both theoretical assessments and practical working sessions in a real-time company environment. The Barberton Mines Engineering Learnerships will take place for a total duration of 24 months. Appointed learners are expected to fully commit their time and efforts into the programme. Learners have the opportunity to dabble in the field of their choice, which includes Diesel Mechanic, Rigging, Auto Electrical, Fitting, Instrumentation, Electrician, and Boiler Maker. Through the learnerships, you will attain the basic skills and competencies required to excel in the rigorous Mining industry. Eligibility Criteria
Interested candidates of the Barberton Mines Engineering Learnerships are obliged to fulfill an eligibility criteria before proceeding with your registration. Each of these items will determine whether you are well-deserving enough of the programme or not. The Barberton Mines Engineering Learnerships Eligibility Criteria are as follows:

  • Possesses a Matric qualification with the key subjects of pure Mathematics and Physical Science
  • Has an N2 qualification with a pass for 4 subjects including (Mechanical and Electrical)
  • Shows an average aggregate passing score of at least 60% or more
  • Displays impressive communication abilities
  • Has a strong foundation in computer literacy (advantageous)
  • Physically and medically healthy for the learnership’s line of work.

The recruitment process will heed the company’s applied Employment Equity Plan. Therefore, preference will be made for certain designated groups who fulfill the company’s Employment Equity goals that have been set.

    1. I would like to apply for the position of a fitter apprentice, I have been working as a fitter assistant at Buffalo coal mine. And I also have completed N1-N4 in mechanical engineering
