About the Alpla YES Programmes 2026
Alpla is currently seeking for applicants who would like to obtain proper workplace experiences with their comprehensive YES programmes in six different study fields. The Alpla YES Programmes give successful candidates the opportunity to develop their technical knowledge, strengthen their professional skills, and gain hands-on experience within a structured working environment that supports learning and career growth.
The ALPLA YES Programmes are offered across six different fields of study, allowing applicants from various academic and technical backgrounds to pursue opportunities aligned with their qualifications and career interests. Each programme is structured to help participants build industry-relevant competencies while contributing to real operational and administrative functions within the company. The initiative also aims to prepare participants for future employment opportunities by exposing them to professional standards, teamwork, workplace responsibilities, and industry-based problem-solving practices within a global manufacturing environment.
Eligibility Criteria

The Alpla YES Programmes Eligibility Criteria are as follows:
A. General Requirements
- Be an unemployed South African youth between 18 and 34 years old
- Have no previous participation in the YES Programme
- Maintain medical fitness where required
- Reside near the required operational area
- Obtain a Grade 12 / Matric certificate
- Complete a relevant tertiary or trade qualification
- Communicate effectively in verbal and written formats
- Demonstrate computer literacy and Microsoft Office proficiency
- Organise and manage tasks efficiently
- Work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Maintain strong attention to detail
- Manage time effectively and work independently or in teams
- Demonstrate professionalism and willingness to learn.

C. Programme-Specific Requirements
1. Industrial Engineering Support
- Complete a Diploma or Degree in Industrial Engineering.
- Obtain a TVET qualification as an added advantage.
- Demonstrate strong technical aptitude within industrial and production environments.
- Conduct time studies to improve operational efficiency.
- Assist with line balancing and production layout planning activities.
- Differentiate waste streams and support waste management initiatives.
- Identify process bottlenecks and contribute to debottlenecking improvements.
- Utilise Microsoft Office applications to support reporting and operational analysis.
- Apply analytical and administrative skills to support engineering processes.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Maintain strong attention to detail during operational analysis and reporting.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
2. Mould Repair Technician
- Complete a Tool Maker Trade or Fitter and Turner Trade qualification.
- Gain at least three years of technical experience within a related field.
- Demonstrate experience in injection, stretch, or blow moulding technologies where applicable.
- Operate milling machines, grinding machines, and lathes safely and effectively.
- Perform mould maintenance, servicing, and repair activities.
- Interpret technical drawings, CAD drawings, design schematics, and blueprints accurately.
- Utilise crane and rigging equipment in accordance with safety standards.
- Apply knowledge of hot runner systems and thermocouples during repair processes.
- Perform machining and metal shaping activities to support mould repair operations.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Communicate technical information clearly and effectively.
- Maintain high safety awareness within industrial environments.
3. Operations Administrator
- Complete a Diploma or Degree in Office Administration or a related field.
- Utilise intermediate Microsoft Excel skills to support reporting and administration.
- Perform general office administration and filing activities efficiently.
- Demonstrate professional telephone etiquette and customer service skills.
- Manage typing, documentation handling, and recordkeeping responsibilities accurately.
- Coordinate stationery orders, courier services, and office supply requirements.
- Deliver customer-focused support within administrative operations.

4. B-BBEE Administrator
- Obtain a Grade 12 certificate as the minimum educational qualification.

6. Quality Support
- Complete a Diploma in Quality Management or Microbiology.
