The Automotive Industry Development Centre, or simply referred to as the AIDC, is an institution that provides support for individuals interested in the South African automotive industry. The center was formed as the subsidiary of the Gauteng Growth and Development Agency, and is under the supervision of the Gauteng Department of Economic Development. The purpose of this institution is to give local communities the knowledge and skills to adapt in the competitive atmosphere in the world of automotive, an industry that has garnered immense popularity within the Gauteng region.

By enforcing partnerships with key stakeholders and multiple agencies, the AIDC contributes greatly to the region’s overall economic growth. About the AIDC (Automotive Industry Development Centre) Learnership 2021
The Automative Industry Development Centre (AIDC) is welcoming South African members of local communities to take part in their extensive learnership programmes. The AIDC Learnership, conducted in the area of Rosslyn, is a beneficial opportunity that is aimed a young individuals who wish to acquire working knowledge of the automotive industry. This programme is created under the partnership of the North West Provincial Department of Economic Development, Environment Conservation and Tourism (DEDECT) with the Bojanala District Municipality, as well as the AIDC themselves.

Participants under the AIDC Learnereship are entitled to theoretical assessments and practical working sessions that provides your a better understanding of the automotive world. The programme’s helpful mentors will transform you into a better asset for the future job market. The AIDC Learnership is providing skill development opportunities for these fields listed below:

  • Mechanics
  • Wheel Alignment
  • Panel Beating
  • Auto Electrician
  • Welding
  • Tyre Replacement
  • Spray Painting
  • Diesel Mechanics

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates interested in the AIDC Learnership must fulfill a list of eligibility criteria attached to the programme. Whichever field you wish to pursue, there are certain basic requirements that all candidates must meet before proceeding with the applications. Failure to adhere to all these requirements may potentially get you disqualified from the registration process. Be sure to take note of everything below.

The AIDC Learnership Eligibility Criteria are:

  • Officially recognized as a legitimate citizen of South Africa
  • Currently between 18-35 years old at the time of applications
  • Not employed by a company or institution
  • Has not be admitted for any further studies
  • Possess a Grade 12 certificate with at least a 50% average aggregate score for Mathematics
    • Alternatively, possess an N3 Higher Technical certificate in anyone of the aforementioned fields
  • Has proven fluency in both written and spoken English
  • Currently residing in Bojanala District Municipality, North West Province.

Interested candidates must send in their application dossiers to the aforementioned e-mail address. The dossier should include your most updated Curriculum Vitae (CV), a valid copy of your available qualifications, legitimate proof of your current residence, and a green bar-coded Identity Document/smart card.

When sending your applications via e-mail, please make sure to indicate the Reference Number of your preferred field in the subject of your e-mail. The Reference Numbers are as listed below:

  • Diesel Mechanics: DIESEL 1

All documents must be included in the application dossier to register for the opportunity. Dossiers missing one document will automatically be disqualified from the programme.

Similarly, candidates sending in false personal information about themselves will be handled with seriously. Therefore, make sure that the information you provide accurately represents your current conditions at the time of applications.

Only application sent through the provided e-mail address are considered for registration. Any submissions made through external methods, such as postal carriage or hand delivery, will not be entertained by the selection committee.

Closing Deadline
Applications for the AIDC Learnership must be submitted before the closing date on 27 November 2020.

The selection committee strictly disallows any late applications. Submissions made past the application deadline will automatically be disregarded by the selection committee. Since there is ample time before the closing date, we highly encourage candidates to prepare their application dossiers from this second.

Announcements will only be made to candidates shortlisted by the selection committee. Should you not hear back from them any time soon, we regret to inform you that you have not been selected for the learnership.
