Ackermans Learnership 2026: Currently Searching for Applicants Between 18 and 33 Years Old

About Ackermans
Originating in South Africa, Ackermans has grown into one of the country’s most recognized clothing retail brands, known for its wide reach and commitment to affordable quality. The company was founded in 1916 by Gus Ackerman in Wynberg, Cape Town, with a vision of making dependable, high-quality products accessible to everyday consumers. The very first Ackermans store reflected this philosophy by prioritizing value, affordability, and inclusivity for customers from all walks of life. What began as a single retail outlet has since evolved into a major retail network with hundreds of stores operating throughout Southern Africa.

Over the decades, Ackermans has expanded far beyond its original location, establishing a strong presence in countries such as Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho, eSwatini, and Zambia. Despite this remarkable growth, the company continues to uphold the principles on which it was founded more than a century ago. With its headquarters still located in Wynberg, Cape Town, Ackermans remains focused on delivering accessible fashion, household products, and everyday essentials to diverse communities across the region. Today, the retailer operates more than 700 stores, and the legacy of Gus Ackerman’s vision continues to shape the company’s identity, ensuring that quality products remain within reach for millions of customers across Southern Africa.
