About the Absa BMI (Business Mathematics and Informatics) Bursaries 2022
Absa is offering financial aid for bright-minded South African students who are pursuing Business Mathematics and Informatics at NWU Potch or Vaal Campus. The Absa BMI (Business Mathematics and Informatics) bursaries is an all-inclusive programme that welcomes people of all different backgrounds. As an awardee, you will be provided with the necessary support to chase after your academic qualification. The Absa BMI (Business Mathematics and Informatics) bursaries is currently opening 5 slots. The bursaries is offering financial aid for students who are pursuing any one of the following qualifications:

  • Quantitative Risk Management
  • Financial Mathematics
  • Actuarial Sciences
  • Business Analytics/Data Science

Selected awardees will receive a generous sum of money that covers tuition expenses, registration fees, laptop costs, and study materials.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates interested in the Absa BMI (Business Mathematics and Informatics) bursaries must fulfill an eligibility criteria before proceeding with their applications. To guarantee a successful application, candidates are advised to meet all of the following requirements. The Absa BMI (Business Mathematics and Informatics) Bursaries Eligibility Criteria are as follows:

  • Officially recognized as a citizen of South Africa (must show a barcoded Identity Document)
  • Has at least a 70% average aggregate score for Mathematics and English in Grade 11

Application Instructions

Candidates must provide the following documents to accompany their online application:

  • A comprehensive letter of motivation explaining why you deserve the bursary (must not exceed more than 1 page)
  • Complete Grade 11 results slip (and your most updated Matric results if available)
  • Must show proof that candidate has applied and have enrolled into the BMI programme at NWU (or planning to enroll).

All these documents must be included in your application dossier. Incomplete dossiers will not be considered by the selection committee.

By sending in your applications, you are hereby giving permission to the selection committee to have your personal information utilized for registration purposes.

Applications will be subjected to further evaluation and vetting procedures to verify the validity of candidates. Anyone discovered to be falsifying any aspects of their applications will be disqualified from the registration period.

Candidates must process their applications through the portal provided above. Submissions made through other methods, such as email or fax, will not be accepted by the selection committee.

Closing Date
Applications for the Absa BMI (Business Mathematics and Informatics) Bursaries must be submitted before the closing date on 31 December 2021.

The selection committee has absolute zero tolerance for late applications. Submissions made past the closing date will not be acknowledged during the registration period.
